Barbara is a Technology Fellow in the Science & Innovation Center for DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware. She has served on a number of professional boards including the American Chemical Society and American Society for Mass Spectrometry.
Barb decided to volunteer her time in the community by becoming a member of the KACS board and helped to initiate the signature fund raising event called the Empty Bowls.
Before retiring in 2000, Jeff was owner and president of a sales and marketing company in the home center industry. Jeff has served on the boards of Historic Kennett Square, the United Way of Southern Chester County and is currently serving as Vice President, Board of Trustees of the Kennett Library. Jeff also Chairs the Land Conservation Advisory Committee for Kennett Township.
A proud graduate of the University of Delaware, Jeff moved to Kennett in 2002 after 36 years in Wilmington, DE and joined the KACS Board in 2014.
Before retiring in 2014, Bob was the Programs Manager for DuPont Sales. His expertise in best practices and performance management supported his work with Connecting Generations Inc, the Kennett Education Foundation and the Rotary Club of Kennett Square which started the Longwood Club the year he was President. Bob joined the KACS Board in 2015.
He is a proud retired Naval Officer and Penn State Engineer where he recently served as President of the first Learning Factory board which won the NSF award for innovation in engineering education.
Pete enjoyed a 45 year career in Banking and is a past president of the Chester County Bankers Association. He served on various Boards over the years including the Bayard Taylor Memorial Library, West Chester YMCA and Kennett Education Foundation.
Pete is a member and past president of the Kennett Lions Club and is a lifelong resident of Southern Chester County. He joined the KACS Board in 2008.
Faye is currently employed by AstraZeneca, in Global Commercial Operations. Her expertise is in sales and marketing and she is a member of the Healthcare Business Women’s Association. Faye has lived in Chadds Ford for the past 25 years. Her passion is about finding ways to help make sustainable solutions which improve the lives of people in need.
Faye has been involved with KACS for 5 years, specifically supporting the Empty Bowls fund raising event and has been a KACS board member since 2014.
David L. Myers
A lawyer in Kennett Square (where he resides) for over 40 years, Dave has been active with and held leadership positions with the local Lions Club and United Way and with the former Southern Chester County Medical Center. He has served on the Board of the Red Clay Valley Association and the Kennett Area Senior Center and now with the Health and Welfare Foundation of Southern Chester County.
Born, raised and educated in New England, Jim and his family moved to the Kennett area over 30 years ago. He completed a 33 year career in Dupont R&D in 2007. He then consulted for numerous years, while he also volunteered in KASA, KACS, and most recently the Family Promise organizations. He joined the KACS board in 2014.
Jim enjoys golfing and spending much time with his three (3) young wonderful granddaughters.
Rich worked for W.L. Gore & Associates for almost 10 years and was responsible for marketing the Gortex fabric to the industrial market. In 1987, he assumed responsibility for the family businesses, becoming President of Pesce Lab Sales, Inc., Pik-Lites, Inc., and PemmCo Storage, which he continues today.
He was an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Rich served 2 terms on Kennett Square Borough Council and 25 years on the Kennett Square Civil Service Commission. A lifelong resident of Kennett Square, he has served on the KACS Board since 1993.
Robert F. Shappell
Before retiring in 2008, Bob was production manager for Southco, Inc., Brandywine Division. Bob is a past president and an executive committee member of Kennett Grange #19. He studied at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology and Drexel University where he received his degree in Civil Engineering.
Bob has lived in Southern Chester County for over 45 years. He has volunteered his time with KACS since 1971 and joined the KACS Board in 1993.
Debra has resided in the Kennett area for more than 35 years and works full time as Executive Administrator for The Tri-M Group, LLC. She is a member of the Kennett Lions Club Morning Branch, which does regular Food Collections throughout the year for KACS. Debra has served/continues to serve in numerous volunteer positions including Unionville Community Fair, Camp Dreamcatcher and Kennett Area Senior Center, to name a few.
A former teacher, Debra received her B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from Fairmont State College in West Virginia.
L. Peter Soraruf, MD
Pete Soraruf has been a Family Physician in Kennett Square since 1977. In 2006, he was named PA Family Physician of the Year. He is a graduate of Lafayette College and Jefferson Medical College. For 17 years he served on the Board of the Chester County Hospital, and he served as president of Kennett Square Rotary in 1993.
