The Kennett Food Cupboard offers food to families on a monthly basis with special food projects at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The program provides a 6-7 day supply of food to over 1,200 individuals each month. The Food Cupboard provides quality, consistent nutrition as well as household items like paper products and personal care items.
The Kennett Food Cupboard is one of the three largest food cupboards in Chester County. The program is run almost entirely by volunteers, working over 1,000 hours per month.
Approximately 95% of food comes directly from the community in the form of community food drives, partnerships with local farmers and grocers, community and family gardens and individual donations.
If you are in need of food, please call for an appointment or come in during Food Cupboard hours. In order to qualify, you must reside within the Kennett Consolidated, Unionville-Chadds Ford or Avon Grove School Districts.
Please bring in a photo ID and two proofs of current address (i.e., utility bill) when registering for our Emergency Food Program (TEFAP). In order to enroll in Healthy Options, an additional nutrition program, please bring proof of household income (all members with an income must provide verification), photo ID for all household members over 18, and two proofs of address. Qualified families complete a self-declaration of need form, and income guidelines are based at 180% of the federal poverty income guidelines.
